Summer 2009 :: Activities

Game Summit is introducing low entrance fees and a new token system for special activities, similar to what you would find in community fairs. Each special activity is indentified with its associated amount of token required to participate.

The Workshop

A big part of many popular table-top games is the art of painting and modeling. Our painting clinic involve hands-on tips and tricks by award-winning painters. You'll get to walk away with a beautiful painted model when the clinic's over. Our stations are equiped with paints, paintbrushes and models, but we advise you to bring your own paintbrushes. If you're an aspiring or professional artist and wish to see what other artists do or share your own masterpieces, be sure to check out the Artist's Corner.

The Arena

Your hunt for the ideal wargaming experience is over: Game Summit has it in spades. The Arena will host dozens of wargame enthusiasts facing off. Whether it's Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy, Warmachine, Hordes or another wargame that can play out on a 4'x4' gaming surface replete with terrain and scenery, Game Summit has room for die-hard fans of all kinds. Still looking for an extra competitive edge? Enter the Hall of Heroes tournament for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy to go head to head with other generals until a winner emerges. The Area tables can be reserved for pick-up games for 90 minutes at a time, with several reservations allowed.

The RPG Den

Looking to get some Dungeons and Dragons action? How about Magic the Gathering? Popular card and role-playing games will be on deck in our Den. No need to bring dice, character sheets, miniatures or graph paper... we'll have it all ready for you. Just sign up and enjoy either the morning or afternoon session (or both!).

The Marketplace

Gamers know that there's no joy like the joy of finding the perfect board game, the rarest expansion or the coolest book. That's why we'll have over a dozen merchants attending Game Summit with their time-wasting wares out for eager hobbyists to peruse between games. Is it good enough to have all the best stores and merchants selling directly to you from the Skirmish floor? We don't think so... which is why we're offering credit to Game Summit for discounts and deals so you walk away with more goodies for less loot.

The Sunday Garage Sale

Used games are the order of the day at the Game Summit Garage Sale: Do you have games you want to unload? Miniatures you're not using? Even video games or sci fi/fantasy novels are welcome at our Garage Sale... so bring your used items and, if they catch another gamer's eye, you might make a little money along the way. Conversely... be sure to take a look at what's been put on the sales block: Every gamer knows that rare gems have a way of popping up where you least expect it. You can fill-up and bring along your inventory by downloading the Garage Sale Form (.xls) or as a PDF.
