Are there any rules vis-a-vi painting requirements? My plans to get my Talons painted up have fallen a bit short of the mark. :( (Note that I have not registered yet)

No, James, I was referring to your Black Talons being 'a bit short of the mark'. Reread with context! :)

Now that this storm has come and passed, I'm pleased to reveal the results for the 2011 Game Summit Skirmish Heavy Gear Blitz Tournament! There was a tie for "Most Sportsmanlike", but in the tradition of many an Ottawa tournament, the tie was broken by seeing who had the lower gaming score in the tournament.

James Sutherland (left) and Mark Janelle (right) shortly after winning their respective prizes.

James Sutherland (TragicNut)
FIRST PLACE ($35 Gift Certificate for Dream Pod 9 online store and free admission to both next Game Summit AND the next Heavy Gear Blitz Tournament)
Victory Points: 10
Sportsmanship Points: 13

Ryan Henshaw (Henshini)
SECOND PLACE (free admission to next Game Summit)
Victory Points: 9
Sportsmanship Points: 14

Mark Janelle (m_Janelle)
MOST SPORTSMANLIKE ($35 Gift Certificate for Dream Pod 9 online store and free admission to next Game Summit)
Victory Points: 3
Sportsmanship Points: 14

I have pictures up at my Flickr account.

Congratulations to all who could make it out this time! I hope that the rest of you lovely Heavy Gear players out there (An00bis, Feor, Gahris, CADmonkey, Ghostrider from the DP9 forums) will be able to make it next time around!
