Quoting my old profile was easier than creating typing a new one up that would say the same thing. Good to be back.

Well, may as well get my name in.

Name: Brad Burgess
AKA: Princeps, PuffinMagician
Playing since: 2nd Edition
Armies played: Chaos [2E], Eldar, Armoured Company [3E], Tau [4E] (all sold)
RL profession: Class IV worker drone
Other hobbies: Drawing, Painting, SciFi, Ps3
Location: Ottawa

Hey all, the name's Brad. I'm 28 and have been in Ottawa for about 6 years, and in and out of the hobby itself since 1995. 40k is the only game I've really gotten into despite most people telling me I'd have more fun with Epic: Armageddon. I love designing tables, writing rules for new vehicles, and building terrain and superheavy vehicles from scratch, so I'm definitely a fan of fluff-driven campaigns or megabattles.

BUT I currently don't have any armies as I've been away from the hobby for quite some time... I think the last game I played was in 2007. I want to get back into the game for one reason: Apocalypse. I'm thinking of starting either Iron Warriors or Sons of Medusa, but it's hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on plastic soldiers if I don't have any opponents. I'm currently scratchbuilding a pair of Warhound Titans and a Death Wheel, but I'd like an army to go with them. And someone to be on the receiving end of all that firepower!

So this is why I'm here; to meet some fellow gamers in the area, and actually start playing again. I live in the College Square area [Baseline/Navaho]; I don't have a car but I'm within sight of an OC Station so transportation shouldn't be much of an issue as long as games stay within the city. I'm not too keen on playing at GW Bayshore because like many of us, I am a quiet nerdy introvert and shopping centers do not interest me. Also I work overnights so scheduling might be an issue... I don't know, something will work out.

So after I get a hold of some models and build a sizeable force, all I'll need to know is where to play and what kind of beers to bring. Cheers folks!

Hello everybody.

I am an Eldar player, you may call me Tim.

Been out of the game for the last few editions.

I suddenly find myself without a viable army as I do not own the heavy weapons platforms my guardian squads now need to be legally playable.

I have some stuff I will be hoping to trade eventually. I was considering converting my Empire army to IG, but the cost would be prohibitive so I am hoping to (once I tally up my old junk) trade piece by piece for eldar components.

I'll probably be asking a few questions here and there as well.

Been lurking around here for a month or two before joining.

Look forward to lurking around here more.

Hello all.

I am Brandon Dubyk
28 years old
recently got married

I first started playing 40k about 15-16 years ago but fell out of the loop after a year of playing. I got back into it about a year ago and have fallen hard into the hobby. I just recently found my very first army in my parents storage locker. which is that of the Chaos space marines. Seeing all the figures and how I was painting them back then really brought back memories.

I current play eldar, C:SM, grey knights and sometimes orks. Like I said, I fell back into the hobby hard. There is no armies that I have not thought about buying at one point or another. Now with my old chaos army in hand i need to get it up to snuff again and make it legal again. I have 5 HQs and no troop choices in what I have left of them.

I really like playing larger games but I have not had time/people to play with for awhile. Looking to change that.

If you go to the Ottawa GW store you should know me from the sunday mega battles.

Stat line: Ross, 27 yo, currently mustachioed as per November tradition.

Known aliases: Frosty, Ricky Ross, Hey You In The Bushes!, z3u5dg0d (back in my CS days), CubanNecktie (all 40k forums & PSN handle - add me if you want to get COD sniped)

Playing since: March 2012. When I was in highschool back in 2001ish I wandered into the old St.Laurent Mall GW and tried a quick WFB game and liked it. Somehow wandered off and bought a bunch of minis from the Legend of the Five Rings (I think) game...and its Lion Clan expansion. They were pretty cool, but never got as far as painting them. Got (back) into the hobby and into 40K this March as an experiment to immerse myself into a subculture I knew nothing about...and also to reduce my time at the bars. I do enjoy the bars.

Armies: GK all day (~4000pts), SM Red Scorps (~1500). Have peddled wares for many armies, but GK was my first love. Probably based on lore and a conscious nod to liking knighty things like GoT, MP&Holy Grail, and older knight stories mixed with the badassery of futuristic war. Red Scorpions were a fluke buy, but I've grown to like them as much as the GKs since they are very similar in the fluff. No known primarch, fanatical adherence to protocol, disdain for one of the 3 enemy branches of the Imperium (xenos vs. chaos). And their hate of pants. Look it up. It's in the back of the book somewhere.

Profession: Currently with National Defence in IT modernization, but studied political science in Uni, then spent a good chunk of my 20s selling websites, new homes, direct marketing, and life insurance. It's been a colorful journey to put it mildly.

Non-work stuff: COD (less nowadays but just picked up BlackOpsII so will be on again more), oil painting, writing a short story (stalled for now), mapping the human condition one pint at a time.
The home of my ongoing projects: Hammers & Bayonets

Hey. Were Mike and Jay, professional VCR repairmen who work for Lightning Fast VCR Repair. Currently were ripping off repairing a VCR for some old creepy guy. He keeps leaving all these small toys all over the living room and it really gets in the way of our beer bottles work. We looked into them and there part of some game called Warhammer 40000 so were going to try that out next time were working on his VCR instead of drinking.

^^ This is hardly the worst reason I've ever heard for starting the hobby. :)
