suggestions on dark eldar scourges

Hey y'all ive been working on my dark eldar list and i really really want to put in a squad of scourges but im not 100% on how to arm them. Heat lances seen nice but the idea of haveing them 9" from an enemy vehicle is to risky for me. Can anyone give me some pointers/tricks that have worked for you?

Think it will really depends on how they can compliment the rest your army. For example I already have plenty of tank busting capability, so I would most likely arm them for anti infantry, most likely arming them with a splinter cannons.

My 2 cents in this is there are good 2 options to go with them.

1. they are the cheapest model choice you can get to army with Dark lance, with 15pts per model, 2 squad of 5 will add 4 more lance to your army.

2. splinter cannons, a full 10 models unit can have 4 cannons, deep strike away from move 12'' up and blast away 34-42 shots of poison per turn.

I wouldn't rule out dbl blaster, at least they can fire on the move and be at the same range as the shard carbines. Great for anti FNP storm shield termies and vehicles.

As they said above, arming scourges is all about using the versatility that the unit has. Now this is more towards 1500+ games where you want them to compliment the rest of the force. If you are playing lower point games (say around 1000) then you need to ask yourself how do I want this unit to lead in a certain style of fighting (anti tank, anti heavy infantry or anti light infantry) since they do take up a chunk of your points.

Blaster are nice too, but with Trueborn you will able to take more with less cost, but it is a option out there if you want to use elite choice elsewhere.

Also if you play against someone nice enough, like Gram, you can always ask him if you can use 200 pts of his army limit to added to your own. :D

I mostly play 1850-2500pts games....and i play agenst CSM ALOT. Im just trying to get my army up and running for the next GS. Blasters i find are to expensive for scourges. Yes they have the same range as the shardcarbines but for 15pts each?on a modle that already costs 22pts? Id rather save the bits to make a trueborn squad. So fare the only option i see being of the most use are the splinter cannons, haveing that many shots is brain blowing.

I played 1000pts the other day, it was pretty fun. More small unit action, less big scary things.



As for scourges, I'd say anti-tank all the way.

I just wanted to explain that I find that scourges have their roles change depending on point values and I dont know what point level he plays, so I think I made a fair point.
