question for nids player

Hi guys,

I want to finally start a army of tyranids and I would like to know how many Mycetic Spores do you use. I saw some video and conversion of some Plasma Hatcher from mega bloks for them and I liked the look.

Today I found some in a store and bought all they had (ie: 4 of them) now before I start on them, I want to know if I over bought on them and if so I will resell the extra that I have. Or is 4 enough?

I've seen them used to bring the Doom of Malantai and some Zoanthorpe but I'm not sure of how many I should really need.

It depends on what kind of army you feel like fielding. DotM should always have a pod, but other than that a pod is a decent option for zoans, warriors, fexes, and plenty of other units. Pods aren't exactly mandetory, but they can be useful if you feel like trying a more deep strike based list.

I liked the conversion that split the pod in half basically and had a bunch of tentacles busting out from the split.

The other thing I thought was cool was some guy said if you put the plasma hatcher on a CD it is 2" wider so you don't have to measure your disembark and such, nice and easy bonus. Although I haven't confirmed if that is correct or accurate.

Anyway, hope you post up whatever you do to them.
