So anyone had the pleasure of playing co-op with this 40k video game? heard is kinda fun if you into 3rd person top-down shooting games, seem there is 4 class you can choose from.

All it is is last stand taken from dawn of war II and put into its own little thing. Sadly id still get Dawn of war Ii Retribution as it gives you 6 races heros to play as and a new map which is more beatable then the 1st one

Haven't played co-op yet, since for some reason they only have local co-op instead of online co-op. Which is pretty frickin' stupid. It's good as a stress reliever, though. Except for parts where you need strong ranged attacks while playing a Melee character (or vice versa). I must've died 10 times as the Librarian on that frigging second mission.

You realize that that's a bit like saying World of Warcraft is the same as Warcraft 3 only focused on a hero unit, right?

Gameplay and style is different. Instead of standing around waiting for the badguys to come to you, you have to run through areas, completing objectives and killing guys. It's more like Gauntlet: 40K edition than Last Stand. There's less customization of weapons, but you can switch around powerup perks (So you can get things like more health, or extra grenade slots)
40K Armies Played: Space Wolves, Space Sharks, Orks, Tau, eventually CSM (MSons + Bile)
Blood Bowl: Ought'Ta WAAAGH Roughriderz (Orcs), The North Spire Wendigoes (Norse) Iron-Wrath Krakens (Chaos Dwarfs, WIP), Scarlet Fliers (Dark Elves, WIP)
Heavy Gear Blitz/Arena: Peace River Defence Force, Paxton Gears in Arena
Necromunda: MacGuffin's Marauders (Van Saar)
Malifaux:Built: C.Hoffman Boxed: Rasputina, Pertitia, some extra models for both

(I'm Mike, by the way. Easier to remember than Tokkan, probably. DEFINITELY easier to pronounce)

WH40 kill team game

Postby Chooka » Tue Jul 26, 2011 10:11 am

I've beaten it on solo and coop. It's not much like last stand at all. The only "last stand" part would be that there is a couple marines fighting guys... It's more like contra. You have a level to beat, and hordes if guys in your way.
I like how each marine has a use too, they are all powerful in their own way. I have beaten at least one level with each, all super fun.
I would say very much worth the purchase.

It will come out for PS3 in about a month, but it is currently 360-only. I'm currently waiting for that, and will likely end up purchasing it, if not just for the Power Sword bonus weapon when Space Marine comes out.

I guess I am going to have to hook the old 360 to the net again to get it :)

One thing I will say though, it sure as hell is a nice break from all the zombie ones companys have put out lately.

Played a little this weekend and it was pretty good fun. I can see it being better with someone else on screen with you. Odd they did not make it online but hey. They take a little license with some of the weapons (that plasma cannon is not a plasma cannon) but I will still have a friend over so we can finish the game :) ...
