His opponent then does the same in the opposite half, but must position his three units more than 18" from enemy units.

Is that a typo then?

There just referring to the fact that the enemy can only place three units. I think they stated the 3 to make sure it didnt sound like the opponent could place more than three troops.

Who is the enemy? Who's on first? No who's on second, where's the pitcher!

Anyway kk so what I see is:

1. Winner places 2 troop choices (i've figured this out while typing) + 1 HQ down.
2. Opponent then places 2 troop choices +1 HQ down (his 2+1=3 see my Highschool diploma helps me with 40k!)

KK nevermind now

Remember though that it says up to 2 troop units and 1 hq unit, so you don't have to deploy anything if you don't want to.

looked like a fun battle!
When the battle board gets painting, I would be interested in seeing pictures of the painting and completed terrain

- Letting heavy weapons fire the turn they came from reserves (Reserve rules state they come in and have "MOVED") which means they shouldn't be able to fire.
- The Assault Cannon is heavy... so I can't walk and shoot it... (another reason these guys should be teleported in)

Things I'm still not Sure on:
- Can a walker walk and shoot a heavy weapon (Plasma Cannon)

I'm virtually certain that both walkers and terminators can fire heavy weapons even if they move.

I also believe that deepstriking counts as moving, but I haven't been paying close enough attention to the state of the 40k rules to be sure.

When it's time to paint up your awesome modular table, you may want to take a peek at this article I wrote a little while ago. It's far from perfect and it mostly deals with making game tables from foam, but if it's of any use to you then great!

My wife and I have had close to endless talks on our table from what color to what type of terrain etc, and with the craters a grassland doesn't make much sense to me, I thought a moon scape or maybe a mars type thing.

But we like to pack this thing up when we're done so its out of the way, with that gluing on grass or sand would make a crud of mess, I mean for stationary tables like at Bayshore it works great... but not sure on this.

There was a great picture from the GW website where it looked just painted and looked good in dark browns I'll have to find that.

As for Terminators and Walkers firing heavy weapons I can't find anything that points me in either direction other than what I've read in fluff. I mean neither unit has relentless (which seems to allow that) so I'm confused.

Concerning walkers and shooting:

Page 72, under Walkers shooting, 1st sentence. "Walker can move and fire all of their weapons, just like a stionary vehicle."

Page 58, Under moving and shooting vehicle weaponry, 2nd paragraph. "In addition, the normal penalties of movement on shooting rapid fire and heavy weapons do not apply when firing froma vehicle."

Page58, Under moving and shooting vehicle weaponry, 1st point, explains that stationary vehicles may fire all of their weapons.

Concerning Terminators:

Page 102 of space marine codex states that marines in terminator armour have the relentless special rule.

Chris wow thanks I'll book mark all of these things.

I often forget to look under wargear expecting to see the special rule right where the terminators are on their page or at least in the back.
