SM Codex

Postby Rosscoe » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:45 pm

So I'm buidling my Command Squad and I realize as I go through the war gear I can arm one with a metla, plasma or flamer and still carry a bolter, or two the same way and still carry a bolter as a back up range weapon if needed for shots over 12 inchs even though they cant move for one turn to use that. I could be wrong but thats just how I see it in the wording "Replace chainsword and/or bolt pistol with one of the following" (bolt pistol becomes bolt gun if you take the boltgun in the war gear selection as it stats boltgun or bolt pistol). So now we got chainsword swaped for a flamer while bearing a bolt gun still, chain sword swaped for a melta while carrying a bolt gun, chain sword for a plasma gun......why keep the bolt gun when it does same range rules  so lets give him a power weapon while running with said plasma gun

Now I dont havethe rule book on me at work, but im sure somewhere it must say replace gun with a gun and melee with a melee :P

Nope. If there isn't a restriction stated in the codex then you can take a bolter and a plasma gun or a powerfist and a power sword or whatever other combination you desire.
You must construct addition pylons.

Warning: Subject may take the internet too seriously. Approach with caution.

Armies:
W40K: Tyranids, Space Wolves, Sisters of Battle
WarmaHordes: Cryx, Legion of Everblight, Khador
Infinity: Acontecimento Sectorial (PanO)
Malifaux: Outcasts, Neverborn

Also worth noting if you're planning on a shooting heavy command squad, you simply add a Storm Shield to whatever a command squad member is already carrying.

So you could have your guy with Power Sword, Plasmagun, and Storm Shield. And why not? If you're going to have a long range weapon + CCW anyways...
