Skin is kind of blah to me. Perhaps I am just spoiled by washes though.

I also think it would look a lot better with some gloss varnish. It just seems to flat to be dark eldar.

They are using washes it was just only single high light which really leaves the dark crevices standing out so much.

I decided to try clearing the black and I like it. I also tried a brighter green on a couple edges and I think I'm going to switch to that for the hard lining. Originally it was going to be a combination of both but its such a long process.







BARE in mind that the Helions are but the test for the paint scheme so there's some playing around with it too .

The darker green does seem a bit subdued and hard to see at a distance (I just stepped back from my monitor). The brighter green makes me think necrons but it does work. Using both would be best but of course time constraints are the issue in that case. Perhaps try a model with the darker green on all the edges and the brighter green just on the outside/extreme edges? Would be the best of both worlds and not double your hard lining time.

I think you should shelf the brighter green and re-assess the army after a bulk of it is done and fielded. You could always do extreme highlights iwth the brighter green later on. If you make the scheme too involved then it will take forever to field 1500pts.

Problem is I'm trying to decide on the green now BEFORE starting a bulk has been painted where it WOULD be a problem to change it.



I'm just finding that the duller green doesn't stand out enough when you stand back from the model. It ONLY shows up in the pictures when I have a bright direct light source. Regular lighting ie. just placing it on the table and suddenly the board is just glossy black.
