old books looking for a new home

Postby Suicide_King » Thu Aug 27, 2009 2:51 pm

My mother was cleaning out her basement when she found some of my old D&D stuff. It is mostly 1st ed, with some 2nd ed. I had managed to sell the rest but forgot about that stuff.

If anyone wants stuff that old, please let me know (It is mostly hard cover books btw...)
PLAYS: Daemons, Tomb Kings, Beastmen, Chaos Warriors, High Elves, Wood Elves (fantasy), Imperial Guard, Adeptus Titanicus (Epic), Eldar, Craftworld Eldar (BFG).

That list brings back memories, but just to show how old I am, I was excited to see that this game is going to be released as an MMO soon....

If the Deities and Demigods book has the Cthulhu entires (ie is first or second printing), I want it.
Throughout history every mystery ever solved has turned out to be Not Magic.

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I recently heard the mmo is based on the intelectual license of champions, not the rules. I am a champ vet myself and was thinking it would be fun to play a mmo character based on a structure I understood for a change. (I am still lost with to hit, critical % , penetration, expertise, agility, etc. in a certain other game).
Champions was a classic but the forums seem to be saying this isn't it.

Buy the book and get some friends together to relive the glory days. Might be better use of your money. :)

Cobalt took

Dungeon Master's guide
World of Greyhawk
Deities and Demigods
Manual of the Planes
Dungeon Master Screen
Player's screen

(FYI, Dieties and demigods is missing the Cuthulu and Lankmar gods--If I had that book I would be selling it on Ebay for big cash).
PLAYS: Daemons, Tomb Kings, Beastmen, Chaos Warriors, High Elves, Wood Elves (fantasy), Imperial Guard, Adeptus Titanicus (Epic), Eldar, Craftworld Eldar (BFG).

Just curious...they took out Cuthulu why? Copywrite?
I believe George Takai put it best when he said "Oh my".

Cuthulu and Lankmar (by Fritz Leiber) were taken out due to coypright restrictions. My older cousin had the original. It was quite neat.

I always found it quite strange that they took out Lankhmar gods when TSR always had the City of Lankmar supplement.
PLAYS: Daemons, Tomb Kings, Beastmen, Chaos Warriors, High Elves, Wood Elves (fantasy), Imperial Guard, Adeptus Titanicus (Epic), Eldar, Craftworld Eldar (BFG).
