Hey guys. First post on this board.
Just to let you all know, as Battletech is finally getting a reprint of the introductory box by the end of the month, I'll be running a demo game at Fandom II, using only miniatures found inside of the last edition of the introductory box, on the 25th of March (Friday), starting around 2:00 until close. My apologies for the barely-one-week notice. Being a pickup game, I don't ask nor expect anyone to stay for the whole 6-hours, but come on in and play for however long you like.
For anyone that's seen how introductory games are done at Cangames, I'll be using the same Grinder format. With the 24 'mechs in the box, we should be able to have room for at least six players at once, so I don't doubt that there'll be room to spare.
Myself, I won't be playing unless I have to. I'm expecting to act as arbitrator for the rules.
I've heard that there are some existing Battletech players on this board, and I'd welcome you to come, though I'd like to give priority for new players who've never had the opportunity before, but the extra help in guiding players would be handy.
Though I'm planning on presenting the game in a way that will allow people coming off the streets to learn how to play quickly and easily, it would likely be handy if you took a look through these rules in advance. Don't let the 75 page count scare you off, as less than half of that are the actual rules.
