This thread is locked please go here viewtopic.php?f=71&t=4527 for the official warhammer tournament rules. Hi all,
My name is Spanky_100 (aka Andrew Weber) and I will be running the fantasy tournament at Game Summit this year.
So here is the official format of the tournament:
It's a tiered system with no other restrictions (and note that it is different than the warmasters challenge tiers):
Tier 1 (2000 points)Vampire Counts
Daemons
Skaven
Dark Elves
Tier 2 (2250 points)Beastmen
Bretonnia
Chaos Dwarfs
Dwarfs
Empire
High Elves
Lizardmen
Tomb Kings
Warriors of Chaos
Wood Elves
Tier 3 (2500 points)Orcs and Goblins
Dogs of War
Ogres
The tournament will be 4 games, peer judged painting, and will be broken down into the following points allocation/game:
Battle: 15 (Total=60)
Sportsmanship: 5 (Total=20) (Bonus for top 3 sports (5,3,1 respectively)
Painting: 5 (Total=20) (Bonus for top 3 painting (5,3,1 respectively)
Comp: 5 (Total=20)
Further notes to on how battle points are broken down:
15 points for a massacre
11 points for a solid
8 points for a draw (Cause 1/2 points suck)
4 points for solid loss
1 point for being massacred (cause no one likes to be a zero)
Sportsmanship is broken down as follows:
5 Best sport ever, want to have his/her children
4 Sure I'd watch your kids
3 Good game
2 Rather never play you again
1 I look for you name in the obits daily
At the end of the tournament you'll vote for your favorite opponent.
Painting is broken down as follows (and no unpainted armies are allowed)
5 Golden Demon
4 Simply beautiful job, lots of conversions, nice display
3 Good table to quality
2 Keep trying, the painting lessons are over in the pavilion
1 Did you spit that paint on?
During the tournament, all of the armies will be setup and displayed and each player will vote for his/her favorite army.
Comp is broken down as follows:
5 Well balanced army, themed, and competitive and fun to play against a list like that.
4 Well balance army, themed.
3 Well balanced, only one item/unit that seems a bit cheesy to me
2 Not balanced, designed to abuse the system.
1 Not fun to play against.
There are no comp related bonuses.
Any other questions? Post them here, send me a PM or right to me here at
andrew.weber@rogers.comOh and in terms of scenarios, I haven't decided yet, but don't expect pitched battles and there will definitely not be any flanking scenarios.
Cheers,
Spanky.
I believe George Takai put it best when he said "Oh my".
