Heavy Gear Blitz!

When: Saturday from 10 am until 6pm

The low down:
Heavy Gear Blitz! is a tabletop strategy game made by the proudly Canadian Dream Pod 9. It's set in a distant sci-fi future on many different unique planets, spawning just as many unique factions.

This tournament will pit small 360 TV squads against each other.

We will be using the Heavy Gear Blitz! Locked & Loaded rules with the following modifications:
We will be using the defence modifiers listed in the Issue 1 of Gear Up Magazine, available to download for free here: Gear Up
We will be using the first option in the More Carnage! optional rule listed on page 49 of the Locked & Loaded rulebook.
No support points will be used.
Armies may be made at any Priority Level.
Some models with arms or jump jets will be very useful in some scenarios, but aren't required.
Your army may consist of up to two squads.

This tournament is geared(see what I did there?) towards introducing new players to the game, veterans are more than welcome too! There will be several pre-made armies for you to play with if you don't have one of your own. A general gameplay demo will be given before the games start for new players.

Quick update to the schedule!

Demos will be running starting at 10 am and the actual tournament starts at 1pm. If you want to try out the tournament but haven't played before, come check out a demo and get yourself ready to play!

Hi All,

Just a quick update for the [url="http://www.gamesummit.ca/index-eng.php"]Game Summit[/url] this weekend in Ottawa at the Nepean Sportsplex (1701 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa). I'll be heading up to the Game Summit this Saturday June 12th to helpout Ryan running demos and the tournament. On Saturday we'll start running Heavy Gear Blitz Demos at 10 am to noon and then The Heavy Gear Blitz Lightning Tournament start just after noon. Everything is provided for the Tournament, we have Eight squads of miniatures all painted up for the players to use. The Tournament will be 4 lightning rounds of 45 to 60 miniutes each with a prize for first place awarded at the end, the Game Summit cost to play in the tournament will be $10. New players are welcome to join us for demos in the morning and play in the tournament in the afternoon, we'll be there to help with any rules questions for new or old players.

We will also have a small selection of Heavy Gear Blitz Rulebooks, Starter Army Boxes and Miniature Boxsets at the Game Summit for sale.
