What's your new years resolution

Postby tatz_101 » Sat Jan 01, 2011 2:03 pm

Hey Guys

Anyone got any new years resolutions? Anyone keep their resolutions last Year?
Just put down your name and a resolution for the year(hobby or non-hobby related is up to you).
The idea is for all of us to help each other reach our new years resolution via encouragement(or name calling if necesary)

Last year I resolved to get my Lord of the rings army done, and I'm really happy with how they turned out too bad no one really plays lord of the rings.

This year my hobby related resolution is to get 1500pts of my vostroyans painted up in time for the GT in vegas this year.

1. Rebuild and improve my painting skills. They've atrophied a lot, and I can't let that continue. I will need to reallocate my time to keeping myself practiced, and put my foot down a bit more. This should also help me finish some armies.

2. Successfully run the Workshop at Game Summit this year.

3. Eat better. Chicken breast and broccoli time, bitches.

4. Spend less time and money on video/computer gaming (without stopping entirely).

5. Make money outside of work, whether it be from painting or personal web development projects or selling surplus models.

6. Be less hard on myself, and work on seeing myself in a more accurate light - an OttLite for the soul, if you will.

7. Rely more on intentional, conscious thought and initiate action rather on intuitive reaction to those of others. Use my intuition as a supplement, not a crutch.

8. This: http://art.penny-arcade.com/photos/1141 ... QVjy-L.jpg

9. Declutter my material assets - get rid of what I don't need, touch or give a crap about, and organize what I keep.

mine is to stay organised to prevent overspending, lost time and damaged things... not to mention a clean environment is a happy one...

for example today being day 2 of the new year my wife and mine's room is 100% clean and that last curtain is being installed properly with new hardware.. pantry full of food organized to food types to certain shelves saving time and lost food we had 3 bags of coconut not too sure why but we did and a load of rice different types mind you but not very useful if yo don't know you have it...

tonight once the little ones are in bed I will be working on the games room and streamlining them...

ye ha for boxes to recycle, donate and throw out this will continue until we are happy with our results...

Mine currently are:
1: Actually USE the gym at school in the morning before classes (even the 8:30 ones), rather than surfing the net. Aiming for minimum 45 minutes in and out.
2: Organize my gaming stuff better. This will likely involve Closet Tetris and Shelf Jenga, as I pull old books off shelves and cram them into available closet space.
3: Start painting more things, like Terrain.
(And in order to have the free time for 1 through 3) 4: Start lab reports and assignments ASAP, even if they're due weeks from 'now', to get the grunt work out of the way.
40K Armies Played: Space Wolves, Space Sharks, Orks, Tau, eventually CSM (MSons + Bile)
Blood Bowl: Ought'Ta WAAAGH Roughriderz (Orcs), The North Spire Wendigoes (Norse) Iron-Wrath Krakens (Chaos Dwarfs, WIP), Scarlet Fliers (Dark Elves, WIP)
Heavy Gear Blitz/Arena: Peace River Defence Force, Paxton Gears in Arena
Necromunda: MacGuffin's Marauders (Van Saar)
Malifaux:Built: C.Hoffman Boxed: Rasputina, Pertitia, some extra models for both

(I'm Mike, by the way. Easier to remember than Tokkan, probably. DEFINITELY easier to pronounce)

My resolution is to make the world a wierder place in small increments, with subtle actions,
like leaving Mcdonalds Ketchup packets at Burger King.

.....
Oh, also paint some.
