I then installed a removable rail around the outside of the 2 tables. I wanted to be able to "join" the two together for mid to large size games, but still have a good size lip around the perimeter to catch stray dice and border any terrain plates that I built in the future. I used some nuts that were also threaded on the outside and installed them in the side of the board, allowing me to use a machine screw to secure the "removable" rails, when only using a single 4x4.

Lastly, I installed a "mosaic" of squares and rectangle on the surface of the board and sprayed it with the grey, just to give it some quick character. I must say though, it looks much better when the terrain plates are placed on it though...
