I honestly think you are going to struggle with 6 units of 40 orcs, for many reasons. You cannot manoeuvre in any sense and the arrer boys are a waste since they are either not going to be able to shoot because of being behind your other units, they will be on the flanks and will let your opponent roll one flank since they are very fragile (or both flanks) or they will be in the middle and your main units won't be able to properly engage. Normally I would't suggest this but you need more characters, especially a level 4 since your units cannot do much other then potentially be steadfast for one or two rounds, without some kind of support. Also another giant would do wonders or some very cheap boar cavalry to support your big blocks.

I agree with G-RAm on everything he said.

Get a BSB. That will help alot.

You need some supporting units. Artillery if you want shooting, chariots or giants if you simply want to cause more casualties, wolf or spider riders in units of 15 strong if you want to disrupt your opponnent with a flank charge. Or you can take goblins with Fanatics if you simply want to be anoying (to both yourself and your opponent).

Or you simply take a large unit of trolls and keep it near both your BSP and general to both have a unit that can disrupt and cause casualties.
PLAYS: Daemons, Tomb Kings, Beastmen, Chaos Warriors, High Elves, Wood Elves (fantasy), Imperial Guard, Adeptus Titanicus (Epic), Eldar, Craftworld Eldar (BFG).

Yeah a BSB would be huge. Also are you planning on running your units in hordes or steadfast blocks?

Now now if I tell yeas how I plan to run my units now, people will later will know what to anticipate and setup for it lol.

Orginally I was running my one with as a BSB but changed that out also I removed the arty idea for a gaint and some arre boys instead while at the same time had less orc boys and more calvairy, but I swapped that out for mainly more boys :D but yes I do agree calviry is in the lacking department here and would be much needed.

Lots of hords would look great on a table but as other have pointed out you are going to have serious issues with manouvering/deployng. If there is a lot of terrain you are going to be very restricted..

Not having a BSB is a bit of a death sentance for O&G who really need as many units in that re-roll bubble as they can.

40 orcs for shooting is interesting, but you can get 40 gobos for shooting for a lot less.. and 40 night gobos with a few upgrades like fanatics and nets and the like for about the same.

1 shaman (lvl 2) for magic defence is very low in a 3k game. A few gobo or NG shamis for things like dispell scrolls might be a good investment.

I like giants myself, they tend to have a greater psycological effect than game effect but that is fine. Most people seem to agree that they are a little under powered for their cost. I know a lot of people don't like the ward save on them but I love it. With a little luck, between high toughness and and that 6 up ward they can take a crazy amount of shooting and live.

If you have the models Savage Orcs with a shami with lucky shrunken head is awesome. A unit of 30 is very resiliant and can dish it out pretty good as a flanking unit. You could drop a unit of 40 boys and 40 arrer boys to get them with points to spare.

As it stands your list with that many hordes would be tough to handle for some armies as long as you don't get stuck behing your own units in the deployment... and you will be hard to flank with that many units as they will probably spread over the entire 6" length. I would play that for sure.

I wanted this 3000 point list to scream "We ar da orcs! we eat ith bone forks! we love to et ur gobos!" which it has :D Sadly yes a battle standard bearer is needed if things get rough. wonder if I can pull out my gaint and replace him with a cheap yet effecent arty piece and a bsb. Dont got my book on me to see if I can squeeze both lol.
