Depends on the quality, if you are over your network and not wireless than it'll automatically choose the lowest option. Typically between 5-12mb is safe for lowest settings. Sometimes more for longer ones, of course.

Just a heads up, on the off chance you haven't seen the adds.

Wind is currently doing a promo. $30 with unlimited talk, text, data (although I think they slow you down after 5 or 6 gigs). You can also get your phone for free or with a large discount if you like, with no commitment, the catch is that you MAY have to pay off the rest of the phone if you quit the plan too early, I think it's %10 of your bill each month gets subtracted from what you owe on your phone...it's a really cool deal, IMO. There are some pretty bad reviews on their service coverage and customer service though, so take care to look into things. I know a couple folks in Ottawa who have no real complaints, I think I'm going to pull the trigger and sign up next month. The downside is their phone selection is limited.

My co-worker has a mobilicity (which runs the same network as WIND) and the service sucks tbh. He gets dropped calls daily, and when using the phone to create a mobile hotspot his internet drops every 15 mins or so. Internet is under 1mb in speed between 9am to 5pm, and if he tried to use anything like youtube (vid streaming) or torrets he gets throttled to internet slower then dialup.

The phone he is using is the HTC something or other. Its a really nice phone whens its not dropping calls, dropping internet, and overheating.

Is it an HTC Evo 3d? That's what I just upgraded to. Damned solid phone. The Raider is out now as well and that's a SUPER powerful phone.

Nuff said.

Yeah, its a nice phone indeed. Unfortunately I won't sign a 3 year contract and pay $150 for it. If I'm going to spend over $100 for a phone + contract, I'd rather get an iPhone....

That is the other reason for the win7 Samsung Focus. I think it is about the most capable phone, that is free with contract from Rogers.

AFAIK, while Wind and Mobilicity share the same 3G frequency, they are completely separate networks.

I highly recommend you read this. It's an excellent guide with very little hype or PR in it.
