Selling Full Armies at the Garage Sale

I've decided to sell off my (somewhat large) Tau army, and I'd like to do it at Game Summit if it's feasible. Do people sell large, full armies at the Garage Sale, and do they do well, or do they generally break them up into units and sell them individually? I'd like to get rid of all of it in one go, and I'm coming in from Toronto, so if it isn't going to work I'd rather not drag it all with me.

best part is if you find its not working come ask us if people seemed interested in peices then you could just break it up right then and there but yes entire armies have been sold and both parties are usually pretty pumped!

I'm going to be trying to sell off 3 Fantasy armies, one 40K army, and 1 or 2 BFG fleets this year.

I sure hope people are in the market for full armies.

The stuff that's priced to sell usually goes really quickly. If you're pricing for the army is to "get rid of it" it has a good chance of selling. If it's fully painted and the idea is for that to add value it might be a tougher sell. I know myself when I go to the garage sale I'm looking for deals OR rare/out of print models.

It depends on the thing. There are some patterns to which stuff sells first and fastest, but I've seen stuff go that I thought would never, ever move. The best advice I can give right now is to promote what you're gonna bring to the Garage Sale on the forum so people know it'll be there. The most success I see usually comes from that.

Ok, I'll bring my Tau but after counting up the models, I think I'll split it into 2 armies.

Should we advertise here, or in the marketplace?

If thats the case i have my SM in the market place up for sale if some one is intrested i'll throw it into the sale. Maybe even lower the total cost if i have too. Its pretty much a whole army except for the well known HQs.
