there are no dumb questions

A game for those who like their World War II re-enactments very, very small.

there are no dumb questions

Hi,

I am looking as I said at FoW and so is one of my friend, he likes russian and I want a Canadian army...

Can we do a allied vs allied? I am a bit confused that do I need an army per area or theater per side to enjoy a quick game with a friend?

thank you!

p.s. I know it breaks the immersion a bit to see a Can vs Russian but who knows what would have happened in a parralle universe right?

You can play German on German if you want :)

The rules are balanced enough so that any army can play any army, regardless of theatre or alliance. Tournaments try to do Red vs. Blue (Axis vs. Allied) wherever possible.
Current Project: Painting/assembling Tau
Current Playable Armies: MW & LW USA - most lists available (FoW), Space Marines (40K), Imperial Guard (40K), Cygnar (Warmachine)
Future Projects: New Marine army @ 1850 (40K), LW US Infantry Army in Winter Gear @ 1780 (FoW), LW Canadian Infantry Army @ 1780 (FoW)

Blue v blue is allowed -- think of it as a training exercise!

That being said; the western and eastern fronts are different beasts. If he loads up on heavy russian tanks you might be in a bit of trouble.

True; but Russian heavy lists will have enough spare points to have a defensive layer while the Germans typically don't.

- western armoured lists are generally built around speed (trusscott trott/stabs/cromwells) that get into the soft side of German tanks. Russian forces typically are so large there is no soft side and their tanks have better all-around armour (aside: that's why LW German lists will generally use Tigers v the west and Panthers v Russia)

- Arti/infantry lists will have fewer issues (esp w/ 155s) ...
