New : The Empire Codex

Postby Rosscoe » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:30 am

So there is to be a new empire codex along with some new units coming out with it. I'm not kidding either.

Like wise like the 1st couple of army books, hard cover, wonder if we will see the new 40k Codexs go hard cover.

fixed your post :) ...

On topic, yeah, rumours have been Empire next for a while, which blows the theory that thew were targeting army books with non-standard magic phases first (i.e. their own spell lists or something unique about how they cast). My fingers are still crossed for an overhaul of wth WE book some time soon (I predict a giant treeman that carries a unit of 10 GG around as a mobile shooting platform as the new giant monster), or dwarves would have been nice too ...

Thanks god this is the first book they have released in 8th that I have no interest in playing (fingers crossed again that this remains true :))

My main army is The Empire, and I do say the inside info I got was rather good. I look forward to this new "Army Book" as you call it

Ok "Me Gusta's" status's aside....

I'm not to concerned on the magic for this army, or magic items, its just what I can pump in to combat the BIG stuff like the bloodly orcs and ogres.....I've already got a Orc list thats even points as my empire but will trample it to pieces.

I'd like to see WEs too, always loved that army but it always seems to be under powered or too annoying to opponents to buy.

Here's hoping they don't dumb down the Empire too much.

Empire should be interesting, hopefully they balance the war machines a bit since those lists have gotten really stupid really fast. I still don't understand why empire would be next when some armies cough wood elves cough are so bad, oh well.

It's probably because of the way certain parts of 8th ed affected the empire list, warmachines and engineers being a big part, but I also think the steam tank has a big effect on their decision to make a new book. That thing pretty much got an overhaul in 8th ed
