Hello,

I have gone to the GW website and seen the new models and stats. I do play Empire and it does not motivate me in buying the army. On another note I play warmaster and they have made a Wood Elves army. Their is a note that is attached to WE. They are small by comparison to the other groups. Thus putting forth an army really does not reflect their military might.

It's probably because of the way certain parts of 8th ed affected the empire list, warmachines and engineers being a big part, but I also think the steam tank has a big effect on their decision to make a new book. That thing pretty much got an overhaul in 8th ed

I have a feeling that the reason that empire was remade was a finacial one. I think they would have been able to fix the problem with a FAQ. Then they would have been able to do other books that really require an update.

Best regards,

Jean

or books that don't, which is more likely what will happen
we'll probably see a new high elf or demon or skaven codex before a dwarf, bretonnian or wood elf one

Liking the new units I will get to play with :D

I'm hoping to see what they tweak on the steam tank really as I plan to toss that into my current Empire army eventually, right now its rather lacking heavy cannon support :(

So any idea if they're going to be doing anything to fix how broken empire gun lines are?

From what I've seen from rumours and leaked info, mortars are going to keep the large blast temps, but get reduced to str2(6) and both mortars and cannons are increasing in points. The hellstorm rocket is going to be 3 small str3 templates that always fire indirect instead of the large str5 blast.

Bearing in mind those are rumours, but if they are true it'd take a lot of the edge from an all gunline empire list but probably still keep them viable

From what I've seen Jean, GW is moving to make books to help armies that needed big FAQ's with the release of 8th edition. It's not a popularity contest, if it was I'd still be waiting for my tomb kings book which is not a popular army by any stretch of the word.

If it was as simple as "which army is going to sell the most" We'd already be seeing WoC or Daemons getting redone again.
