Yeah. We had a few games after which I needed to sit on an inflatable donut.

I could sit here and speculate on what they could do with the Tau, or what I'de like to see or see fit to change. But at the end of the day, I have no *%@#ing idea what GW is going to do with the Tau. We just have to wait. :(

Wasn't in Ottawa but I have fond memories of my crisis suits beating down a pair of wraithlords in close combat (3 suits + commander) in a tournament. Though to rely on that kind of performance (and lack of wraithlord performance) will quickly see someone loose games on a regular basis.

How about target seeking railgun shots that keep killing specific models in units chosen by the Tau player until they fail to penetrate a vehicle or get stopped by an invulnerable save? An entire army with no invul saves or vehicles above AV10? Tau automatically win!

I'm not a huge fan of Wraithlord CC prowess, but that's a discussion for another thread.

I think most people will agree, that all Tau Empire needs is a general points drop and a few more options, but we know GW wont just stop there.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw fusion blasters on Devilfish, following the trend of being able to swap out Burst cannon for Fusion blasters

Anoobis is proof that good generalship can cover up a multitude of Codex sins ...

It is good to hear they are making some tweaks ... does that put them closer to a release, or further? Closer would be if they were doing playtesting and realised some of the issues and decided "wow, we should fix that asap" ... Further would be, "crap, we are not getting to this for 4 more years, I guess we should make it slightly less terrible."

Orb, if you ever want to balance out the beating he gave your Eldar, take Nids against him :) .... I think in 5th it would not be nearly so bad, but in 4th when you could wipe a unit and assult the next one if they were close they were the bane of all things Tau...

Absolutely. He's shown me time again that a smart player who tries new things and opens his mind can make a scary effective list out of almost anything. It's really been proof that every time you hear someone say "[So and so army/unit] sucks", there's someone out there who can show you something you haven't thought of.

Ask him how much he likes Storm Guardians. :)

yes I actually enjoy playing against nids now. I think their book is very balanced and fair, and has some cool options. its a shame about carnifexes now being so overcosted, but overall the book is great. The Old Foe isnt as scary as they used to be :) hell. Im even ok with Codex: Bloodlet- er Codex: Chaos Demons now

thanks for the words guys, im totally keen on trying to make Tau viable in 5th ed again :D I had a game with Chimera last week and I enjoyed it so much im all about Tau again. your encouragement has stoked the fyah!

I just compare everything to guard and grey knights and it all seems balanced. It's nice to see they're looking at Tau, the faq might mean they're waiting to make them as one of the first couple 6th ed books.

Gonna have to blow the dust off of my Blood Angels or get more paint onto my Dark Eldars and get a game with you, Jason, just so you can show me how to play Tau again, now that you're not so wompy about them anymore.

Either that, or we'll play some Heavy Gear. Either way, you get your giant robots, missiles, and maybe some lasers or laser-like weapons. ;)
