Rules of Conduct

Any action or behaviour that causes significant interference with the event’s operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees, or adversely impacts Game Summit’s relationship with its clients, guests, venues or the public is strictly forbidden and may result in permanent suspension of attending the event and future events.

The primary purpose of Game Summit is for our attendees to have fun. To ensure that the greatest number of people achieve this objective we have established certain rules of conduct. By these rules we seek to ensure that the behaviour of any individual or group does not disturb the attendees as a whole, nor does it detract from the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the event. Game Summit welcomes all parties with an interest in gaming; however, the event’s management reserves the right to deny or revoke the attendance of any individual at any time for any reason. Game Summit also reserves the right to amend these rules of conduct at any time without prior or posted notice and reserves the sole right of interpretation. In any dispute, the general rule above will apply. If you have any questions, please contact the event operations staff.

Anyone who accepts a Game Summit Passport or Market Pass, regardless of the means by which it was obtained, agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Game Summit from any claim for personal injuries or other damages or equity arising out of any individual’s activities at Game Summit, even if such injury or damage is caused by negligence by, or on the part of, Game Summit.

As a condition of attendance, all Game Summit attendees are required to abide by these rules of conduct for the entire duration of their stay at Game Summit.

Our staff have the right to enact penalties, up to and including your immediate removal from the event and the facility.

Game Summit is not responsible for resolving any interpersonal disputes that may arise between individual attendees. In general, we can take no action to prevent a person from attending the event unless that person has made a specific and credible threat toward the event itself or if a legal restraining order is produced.

Media Relations and Use of Game Summit Images or Footage

All journalists, media photographers, and any other attending members of the press are required to display an official Game Summit Media Badge or be accompanied by a Game Summit staff member at all times while at the event. Members of the press who have not been issued a Media Badge may not conduct interviews or take photographs, audio or video footage without an escort.

If members of the media are present, attendees must act responsibly. Media representatives who do not have Media Badges and are not escorted by a Game Summit staff member should be reported to the Game Summit information kiosk staff immediately. Do not speak to any unbadged and unescorted members of the press!

Game Summit attendees should be aware that audio and/or video recordings are frequently made in event areas and that their likeness(es) may appear in those recordings. All attendees agree to assign without compensation the use of their likeness(es) at Game Summit for the use of promotional material such as the highlights videos.

The name “Game Summit” is a registered trade name of UniForge Inc., and must not be used in any fashion that disparages or dilutes the brand. Attendees agree to remove from circulation or publication any image or recording that in the sole opinion of Game Summit misrepresents or defames its service mark.

Payments to Game Summit and Other Money Matters

Please note that Game Summit is a brand of UniForge Inc., a federally incorporated entity and a for-profit organization. Cheques that are presented against insufficient funds will be subject to a charge of $25 per cheque.

Game Summit also accepts VISA and MasterCard payments via its PayPal account. Chargebacks (denying a charge) that are made for the sole purpose of avoiding payment, that are made without sufficient cause, or that are made without first attempting to resolve the dispute with Game Summit may result in permanent revocation of attendance privileges and possible legal action.

Attendees who have an outstanding balance with Game Summit must settle that balance before being permitted to attend the event.

Game Summit cannot involve itself in financial disputes between individual attendees, and cannot divulge information about individual members to any party other than to banking officials or legal authorities.

Miscellaneous Notes

The Game Summit rules of conduct will be strictly enforced by Game Summit staff and volunteers who will be clearly identified as such on site. Please remember that your Game Summit Passport is the property of Game Summit and must be presented and/or surrendered to any staff member upon request. If you have any problem with any action taken by a staff member you may take the matter up with Game Summit’s Executive Director.

Please be reminded that these rules involve, of course, “worst-case” scenarios and are put into place to ensure the safety and comfort of our attendees, staff and volunteers. These rules are also not all-inclusive; in all cases, the singular rule that supersedes all others is, “Any action or behaviour that causes significant interference with the event’s operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees, or adversely impacts Game Summit’s relationship with its clients, guests, venues or the public is strictly forbidden and may result in permanent suspension of attending the event and future events”. We anticipate no difficulties, as our attendees as a whole are rational and responsible individuals. Game Summit is prepared to deal with any or all of the above scenarios in as rapid and efficient a manner as possible should they occur. We thank all our attendees for their past cooperation and for their continued assistance in making this a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Have fun – just please remember to be courteous of those around you while doing so!
